Picnic Baked Beans Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 cans of pork and beans
  • 1/2 onion, chopped fine
  • 5 tbsp. dry mustard
  • 2 tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 1 tbsp. ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp. dark syrup
  • 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. Mix all ingredients and let set in refrigerator for 1 hour or more
  3. Bake for 1 to 1 ½ hour
  4. Don’t overcook, the beans will dry out
  5. If too tart add more brown sugar
  6. If too sweet add more dry mustard
  7. Don’t taste it till it’s cooked at least 1/2 an hour
  8. The beans will be thicker than red beans or butter beans
  9. Serve hot from the oven
  10. If beans begin to dry before serving, add a 1/4 cup of water, stir and heat in microwave
  11. Great for picnics or family reunions
