Ingredients
- 3 cans of pork and beans
- 1/2 onion, chopped fine
- 5 tbsp. dry mustard
- 2 tbsp. prepared mustard
- 1 tbsp. ketchup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp. dark syrup
- 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
Method
- Preheat oven to 350F
- Mix all ingredients and let set in refrigerator for 1 hour or more
- Bake for 1 to 1 ½ hour
- Don’t overcook, the beans will dry out
- If too tart add more brown sugar
- If too sweet add more dry mustard
- Don’t taste it till it’s cooked at least 1/2 an hour
- The beans will be thicker than red beans or butter beans
- Serve hot from the oven
- If beans begin to dry before serving, add a 1/4 cup of water, stir and heat in microwave
- Great for picnics or family reunions
