My First Beef Stroganoff Recipe

Ingredients

  • Serving Size : 4
  • 2 pounds round steak – cut 1/2 inch thick
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup onions
  • 1/2 pound mushroom – sliced
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 clove garlic – minced
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 2 cups sour cream

Method

  1. Cut the steak into strips 1 1/2 inches long by 1/4 inch wide.
  2. Melt the butter in a skillet, saute the onions 5 minutes, add the meat and let brown.
  3. Mix the mushrooms, salt, pepper, garlic, worcestershire sauce and tomato sauce.
  4. Cover and cook over low heat 30 minutes or until the meat is tender
  5. Just before serving mix in the sour cream heat, but do not boil
  6. Serve with rice or noodles
