Mushroom Pasta Sauce Slow Cooker Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil
  • 8 ounces (225 g) mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup (160 g) chopped onion
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoon oregano
  • ¼ cup (25 g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 can (6 ounces, or 170 g) no-salt-added tomato paste
  • 1 can 680g no-salt-added tomato sauce

Method

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet and saute mushrooms, onion, and garlic until onions are transparent
  2. Add to slow cooker
  3. Add remaining ingredients to cooker
  4. Mix well
  5. Cover and cook on low 6 hours
  6. Yield: 8 servings
  7. Per serving: 136 g water; 92 calories (27% from fat, 18% from protein, 55% from carb)
