Ingredients
Makes about 1 1/3 cups
- 1/4 cup tahini (sesame paste)
- 1 tablespoon mellow white miso paste
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 cup water
Method
- In a small saucepan, combine the tahini, miso paste, lemon juice and soy sauce and heat over low heat
- Add the water a little at a time, stirring constantly, until smooth
- Cook until heated through, about 10 minutes
- Do not boil
- Serve immediately
- If not using right away, cool the sauce to room temperature, transfer to a container, cover and refrigerate until needed
- Properly stored, the sauce will keep for 2 to 3 days
- Reheat the sauce in a saucepan over low heat until hot
