Miso-Tahini Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

Makes about 1 1/3 cups

  • 1/4 cup tahini (sesame paste)
  • 1 tablespoon mellow white miso paste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 cup water

Method

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the tahini, miso paste, lemon juice and soy sauce and heat over low heat
  2. Add the water a little at a time, stirring constantly, until smooth
  3. Cook until heated through, about 10 minutes
  4. Do not boil
  5. Serve immediately
  6. If not using right away, cool the sauce to room temperature, transfer to a container, cover and refrigerate until needed
  7. Properly stored, the sauce will keep for 2 to 3 days
  8. Reheat the sauce in a saucepan over low heat until hot
