Low Fat Sour Cream Biscuits Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons firm margarine
  • 1/2 cup lowfat sour cream
  • 1/3 cup skim milk
  • Method

  • Heat oven to 450 degrees.
  • Mix flour, baking powder and salt in large bowl.
  • Cut in margarine with pastry blender until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
  • Mix sour cream and milk until smooth.
  • Stir sour cream mixture into flour mixture until dough leaves side of bowl.
  • Turn dough onto lightly floured surface.
  • Knead lightly 10 times.
  • Roll or pat 1/2-inch thick.
  • Cut with floured 2-1/2-inch round cutter.
  • Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
