Ingredients

- 4 Eggs
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 pinch salt
- 4 Egg whites – stiff beaten
Method
- Beat egg yolks until very thick.
- Add sugar gradually and continue beating.
- Add boiling water.
- Mix well.
- Sift flour, salt and baking powder together.
- Add to egg yolk mixture.
- Mix until smooth.
- Add vanilla.
- Mix well.
- Fold in egg whites.
- Bake in greased cake pan, tube pan, deep spring form cake pan or loaf pan at 325 degrees for 1 hour.
