Herb Toasts Recipe

Ingredients

Serving Size : 4

  • 1 loaf French bread

herb butter:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter – at room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill – chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chervil – chopped
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 loaf French bread

Method

  1. To make the herb butter, combine the butter and herbs in a small bowl and blend thoroughly.
  2. Season to taste.
  3. Keep refrigerated until ready to use.
  4. Makes 3/4 cup.
  5. Cut the French bread diagonally into 1/2 inch slices.
  6. Spread each with a bit of the herb butter and toast under the broiler until crisp and brown.
  7. Note: if you won’t be using the herb butter within 1 day it should be frozen.
  8. Serves 4-8
