Ingredients
Serve it over rice.
- 1 pound (455 g) flank steak
- dash black pepper
- 840g fruit cocktail, canned in syrup
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) olive oil
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) lemon juice
- ¼ cup (60 ml) low-salt teriyaki sauce
- 1 teaspoon red wine vinegar
- ½ teaspoons minced garlic
Method
- Place flank steak in slow cooker
- Sprinkle with pepper
- Drain fruit cocktail, reserving ¼ cup (60 ml) syrup
- Combine reserved syrup with remaining ingredients, except fruit
- Pour syrup mixture over steak
- Cover and cook on low 7 to 9 hours
- Add drained fruit during the last 10 minutes of cooking time
- Cut meat into thin slices across the grain to serve
- Yield: 5 servings
- Per serving: 220 g water; 296 calories (33% from fat, 35% from protein, 32% from carb)
