Hawaiian Steak Slow Cooker Recipe

Ingredients

Serve it over rice.

  • 1 pound (455 g) flank steak
  • dash black pepper
  • 840g fruit cocktail, canned in syrup
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) olive oil
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) lemon juice
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) low-salt teriyaki sauce
  • 1 teaspoon red wine vinegar
  • ½ teaspoons minced garlic

Method

  1. Place flank steak in slow cooker
  2. Sprinkle with pepper
  3. Drain fruit cocktail, reserving ¼ cup (60 ml) syrup
  4. Combine reserved syrup with remaining ingredients, except fruit
  5. Pour syrup mixture over steak
  6. Cover and cook on low 7 to 9 hours
  7. Add drained fruit during the last 10 minutes of cooking time
  8. Cut meat into thin slices across the grain to serve
  9. Yield: 5 servings
  10. Per serving: 220 g water; 296 calories (33% from fat, 35% from protein, 32% from carb)
