Halibut Delight Seafood Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pound halibut — cut into chunks
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons curry powder (or a bit less)
  • 1 teaspoon marjoram
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon lemon pepper
  • 2 cups Panko (Japanese bread crumbs)
  • 8 ounces flat beer

Method

  1. Combine flour, garlic powder, curry powder, marjoram, baking powder, and lemon pepper
  2. Mix well
  3. Slowly add enough flat beer to make a thick batter
  4. Dip halibut in batter and then roll in Panko
  5. Let stand for 2 minutes
  6. Deep fry in 375ºF fat until golden brown
  7. Drain on absorbent paper and serve with a tartar sauce or a zesty tomato, horseradish sauce for dipping
