Ingredients

- boiling water.
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 8 large onions – peeled
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup sugar
Method
- In 1 inch boiling water with salt in large skillet, cook whole onions, covered, over medium heat about 30 minutes or until tender.
- Drain.
- In large skillet, melt butter with sugar.
- Add onions, over medium heat, saute turning until golden brown about 5 minutes.
- Can be served as a vegetable side dish or arrange around a cooked turkey.
