Ingredients
- Serving Size : 1
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup shortening – softening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1/4 cup Pet evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup broken walnuts or pecans
Method
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a small bowl, mix flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream shortening, sugar and egg until light and fluffy.
- Add evaporated milk.
- Gradually stir in flour mixture.
- Stir in nuts.
- Spread in greased 8″ square baking pan.
- Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until top springs back when lightly touched.
- Cut into squares while warm.
- Cool in pan.
