Fresh Tomato Salsa Recipe

Ingredients

Makes about 2 cups

  • 5 ripe Roma or plum tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 serrano chile, seeded and minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method

  1. In a glass bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix well
  2. Cover and set aside for 30 minutes before serving
  3. If not using right away, cover and refrigerate until ready to use
  4. This salsa tastes best if used on the same day it is made, but properly stored, it will keep for up to 2 days
