Air Fryer Easy Whole Roast Chicken
Ingredients
- 1.3kg / 2.8 lbs (approx) Whole Chicken
- 2 tbsps Olive Oil
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
- salt and pepper, to taste
Method
- Preheat the air fryer to 180C / 350F
- If you don’t have a preheat setting just run the air fryer for 5 minutes
- Mix olive oil, paprika, garlic powder and onion powder together in a bowl
- Place the chicken breast side up on a plate and spread a tsp or two of the oil mix all over the chicken either with your hands or a brush
- Season with salt and pepper
- Flip the chicken and repeat on the other side
- You’ll want to reserve a little of the oil mix for later, but other than that use it liberally
- Place the chicken in the air fryer basket breast side down and cook for 30 minutes
- Using tongs carefully flip the chicken breast side up and pour remaining oil mix over
- Continue cooking for 20 minutes or until cooked through
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature is 75C / 165F
- Remove the chicken from the air fryer basket and allow to rest of a carving board uncovered for 10 minutes, then carve and serve
