Ingredients
Makes about 8 cups
- 51/2 cups old-fashioned oats
- 1 1/2 cups slivered almonds
- 1/2 cup shelled sunflower seeds
- 1 cup golden raisins
- 1 cup shredded unsweetened coconut
- 1 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- pinch salt
Method
- Preheat the oven to 325°F
- Spread the oats, almonds and sunflower seeds in a 9 x 13-inch baking pan and place in the oven for 10 minutes
- Remove from the oven and reduce the temperature to 300°F
- Add the raisins, coconut, maple syrup, cinnamon, allspice and salt and stir to combine
- Return the pan to the oven and bake for 15 minutes, or until the mixture is crisp and dry
- Be careful not to burn
- Remove from oven and let cool completely, 30 minutes
- Transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator where it will keep for several weeks
