Easy Granola Recipe

Ingredients

Makes about 8 cups

  • 51/2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 1/2 cups slivered almonds
  • 1/2 cup shelled sunflower seeds
  • 1 cup golden raisins
  • 1 cup shredded unsweetened coconut
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • pinch salt

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F
  2. Spread the oats, almonds and sunflower seeds in a 9 x 13-inch baking pan and place in the oven for 10 minutes
  3. Remove from the oven and reduce the temperature to 300°F
  4. Add the raisins, coconut, maple syrup, cinnamon, allspice and salt and stir to combine
  5. Return the pan to the oven and bake for 15 minutes, or until the mixture is crisp and dry
  6. Be careful not to burn
  7. Remove from oven and let cool completely, 30 minutes
  8. Transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator where it will keep for several weeks
