Ingredients

- 2 pounds round steak – 3/4 inch thick
- salt and pepper
- flour
- 4 tablespoons fat
- water
Method
- Rub steak liberally with salt and pepper.
- Pound as much flour into it as possible.
- Brown slowly on both sides in hot cooking fat.
- Add a tablespoon or two of water.
- Cover and steam or simmer a few minutes to make fork tender.
