Ingredients

- 24 ounces Semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter – softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 Eggs
- 1 cup chopped nuts
Method
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Melt butter over hot (not boiling) water, add 1 1/2 cups chocolate morsels; cool to room temperature.
- In small bowl, combine flour baking soda and salt; set aside.
- In large bowl, combine butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract; beat until creamy.
- Add melted morsels and eggs; beat until light and fluffy.
- Gradually blend in flour mixture.
- Stir in remaining chocolate morsels and nuts.
- Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
- Makes 3 1/2 dozen 2 1/2″ cookies.
