Homemade Almond Milk
Ingredients
Makes 1 quart (4 1-cup servings)
- 1 cup raw almonds
- 4 cups water
Method
- Place the almonds in a bowl with enough water to cover and soak overnight
- Drain the almonds and place them in a blender with 2 cups of the water
- Blend until smooth, then add the remaining 2 cups of water and blend until very smooth
- Strain the almond milk into a bowl through a fine-mesh strainer or a colander lined with cheesecloth
- Refrigerate the almond milk in a tightly sealed jar
- Properly stored, it will keep for 3 to 4 days
- Shake before using
