What happens during  Colon Hydrotherapy ?

Colonic hydrotherapy lasts about 45 minutes. A small speculum is inserted into the patient s rectum. This speculum is the attached to a plastic hose which connects to the Colon Hydrotherapy machine. The colonic hydrotherapist will adjust the volume and temperature of the water. This is usually a fine trickle of sterilized water. This completely enclosed system complete with pressure gauge.

The patient is filled with water to their own tolerance which induces peristaltic contractions of the colon at which point they will begin to expel faecal matter through a special hose which leads back to the Colon Hydrotherapy machine.  This can be seen through a clear plastic viewing tube. During a normal colonic hydrotherapy treatment one may see mucous parasites and very old feculent material pass through the tube. This latter material may have been lying in the patient s colon for years. The patient may experience sensations of warmth due to the presence of toxins in the faecal matter.

While the patient is receiving the colon treatment the therapist lightly massages various parts of the abdomen to help loosen and dislodge areas of  impaction.

Is one colon hydrotherapy treatment enough?

Most patients need a series of Colon Hydrotherapy treatments. They may expel considerable gas during the first few treatments usually before old encrusted matter is dislodged. It usually takes years for the colon to become clogged up with waste products. Therefore try not be impatient when you embark on  a course of Colon Hydrotherapy.
