Ingredients

- 2 1/4 cups sifted flour
- 1/3 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 Eggs – well beaten
- 3 Squares unsweetened chocolate – melted
- 1 tablespoon thin cream
Method
- Sift flour once, measure, add cinnamon, baking powder, and soda, and sift together three times.
- Cream butter thoroughly, add sugar gradually, and cream together until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs, chocolate, and cream, and beat well.
- Add flour, a small amount at a time.
- Beat after each addition until smooth.
- Roll into thin sheet on slightly floured board.
- Cut in squares and bake in hot oven (400 degrees) 6 minutes.
- Put squares together with Butter Frosting.
- Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies or 15 cream wafers.
