Chocolate Cream Wafers Recipe

Ingredients

  • Serving Size : 1
  • 2 1/4 cups sifted flour
  • 1/3 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 Eggs – well beaten
  • 3 Squares unsweetened chocolate – melted
  • 1 tablespoon thin cream

Method

  1. Sift flour once, measure, add cinnamon, baking powder, and soda, and sift together three times.
  2. Cream butter thoroughly, add sugar gradually, and cream together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs, chocolate, and cream, and beat well.
  4. Add flour, a small amount at a time.
  5. Beat after each addition until smooth.
  6. Roll into thin sheet on slightly floured board.
  7. Cut in squares and bake in hot oven (400 degrees) 6 minutes.
  8. Put squares together with Butter Frosting.
  9. Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies or 15 cream wafers.
