Chick Peas With Garlic And Green Chilies Recipe

Ingredients

  • Serving Size : 1
  • 4 cloves garlic – (4 to 6) crushed or minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • stock or sherry for Saut,ing.
  • 1 tb Tomato paste, mixed with 3 Tb water
  • 1 15 oz can chick peas, Drained
  • 1 Medium-large potato, peeled And diced
  • 1/2 c Water
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 To 2 fresh green chilies, Chopped 1/2 tsp Ground cumin
  • few drops lemon juice.
  • cayenne pepper, if you like It hot.

Method

  1. Saute the cumin seeds and garlic in stock or sherry for 2 mins, then add the diluted tomato paste and cook for 1 minute longer.
  2. Then add the chick peas, water, potato, salt, green chilies, ground cumin, and lemon juice.
  3. Simmer for 20 mins.
  4. Serve with bread; Pita bread, but crusty bread or tortillas work just as well.
