Ingredients
Yield 1 kg
- 750g walnuts
- 3 cups sugar
- 3 cups butter
- 3/4 cup lemon juice
- cinnamon and ginger – to taste
Method
- Layer in heavy pan with sugar and dot with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon/ginger.
- Repeat layer.
- Pour lemon juice over all.
- Cover and start on low heat after the nuts are almost tender.
- Remove the lid and let cook down until glazed and tender.
- Spread on parchment while still warm, separate any clumps with a fork.
- Chill and serve
