Ingredients
- 3/4 pound (1 3 kg) beef short ribs
- 2 tbsps (30 g) packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- ¼ cup (31 g) flour
- 1 cup (160 g) chopped onion
- 1 cup (235 ml) low-salt beef broth
- 12 ounces 355 ml beer, preferably ale or dark beer
Method
- Place the beef in the slow cooker
- Add the brown sugar, garlic, and flour
- Toss to coat
- Place onions over top
- Stir the broth and beer in a small bowl
- Pour over the beef
- Cover and cook on low for 8 to 9 hours or until the beef is fork-tender
- Yield: 8 servings
- Per serving: 205 g water; 350 calories (47% from fat, 41% from protein, 12% from carb)
- Serve with mashed potatoes or noodles
