Bavarian Kraut Casserole Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 pound pork tenderloin, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 (16 ounce) can sauerkraut
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup sour cream

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F
  2. Melt butter or margarine in skillet over medium heat
  3. Add onion and cook until tender
  4. Remove onions; add pork and brown well
  5. Combine onions, pork and sauerkraut in a 1 1/2-quart casserole
  6. Cover and bake for one hour
  7. When ready to serve, blend in sour cream and nutmeg

Yields 4 to 6 servings
