Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1/2 in. pieces
- 10 slices bacon
- 2 (8 in.) unbaked pie shells
- 1 egg white, lightly beaten
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 C. half-and-half cream
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 C. shredded Swiss cheese
Method
- Set your oven to 400 degrees before doing anything else
- Steam your asparagus, over 2 inches of boiling water, in a saucepan, using a steamer insert
- Place a lid on the pot while the veggies steam and let them cook for 7 mins, then remove all the liquids
- Now begin to fry your bacon until it is fully done then break it into pieces
- Coat your pie crust with the egg whites and layer in your bacon and asparagus
Get A Bowl, Combine.pepper, eggs, salt, cream, and nutmeg
- Pour this mix into your pie and cook everything in the oven for 37 mins
