All Bran Bread Recipe

Ingredients

Serving Size : 4

  • 1/2 Cup Shortening
  • 1/2 Cup Boiling Water
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup All-Bran. Cereal
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Egg – well beaten
  • 1 Yeast Cake
  • 1/2 Cup Warm Water
  • 3 Cups Flour – or
  • 4 Cups Flour

Method

  1. Mix shortening, boiling water, sugar, salt and All-Bran together.
  2. Let stand until lukewarm.
  3. Soak the cake of yeast in the warm water.
  4. Add the egg.
  5. Mix with the above mixture.
  6. Add flour.
  7. Place in a slightly greased bowl.
  8. Set aside to rise.
  9. Knead on floured surface.
  10. Place in a greased bowl, cover and let rise until double in bulk.
  11. Turn out on floured surface and roll.
  12. Bake in hot over, 425 degrees for about 15 minutes.
