Simple Thai Peanut Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

Makes about 1 1/2 cups

  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon light brown sugar
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup water

Method

  1. In a blender or food processor, combine all the ingredients and process until well blended
  2. Taste, adjusting seasonings if necessary
  3. If serving as a dipping sauce, use immediately
  4. If using as a noodle sauce, transfer the peanut sauce to a saucepan over low heat and stir in up to a cup of unsweetened coconut milk and heat until hot
  5. If not using right away, cover and refrigerate until needed
  6. Properly stored, the sauce will keep for 2 to 3 days
