Ingredients
Makes 4 to 6 servings
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups apple juice
- 2 cups old-fashioned oats
- 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 Fuji or Gala apple, peeled, cored and shredded
- 1/4 cup sweetened dried cranberries
Method
- In a large saucepan, combine the water and apple juice and bring to a boil over high heat
- Reduce the heat to low, stir in the oats, sugar, cinnamon and salt
- Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally
- Remove from the heat and stir in the apple and cranberries
- Cover and let stand for about 3minutes before serving
