Classic Honey Wheat Bread Slow Cooker Recipe

Ingredients

  • 475 ml skim milk, warmed to 115°F 46°C
  • 2 tbsps (28 ml) canola oil
  • ¼ cup (85 g) honey
  • 2¾ teaspoons (7 g) yeast
  • 360 g whole wheat flour
  • ¾ cup (86 g) wheat bran
  • ¼ cup (29 g) wheat germ

Method

  1. Preheat slow cooker on high for 30 minutes
  2. Combine warm milk, oil, honey, yeast, and half the flour
  3. With electric mixer, beat well for about 2 minutes
  4. Add remaining flour; mix well
  5. Place dough in well-greased baking pan; cover
  6. Place in slow cooker, cover, and bake on high 3 hours
  7. Yield: 8 servings
  8. Per serving: 62 g water; 270 calories (16% from fat, 15% from protein, 69% from carb)
