Ingredients
- 1 pound (455 g) ground turkey
- 1 cup (160 g) chopped onion
- ½ cup (75 g) chopped green bell pepper
- ½ cup (50 g) chopped celery
- 700 ml low-salt beef broth
- 1 cup 235 ml skim milk
- 475 ml water
- 2 tbsps (15 g) flour
- 225g Cheddar cheese, shredded
Method
- Brown turkey in nonstick skillet
- Spoon into slow cooker
- Add onion, green pepper, and celery to slow cooker
- Heat broth, milk, and water in skillet, scraping up browned bits
- Sprinkle flour over liquid
- Stir until smooth and let boil for 3 minutes
- Pour into slow cooker
- Cover and cook on low 6 hours
- Then add cheese and cook another 2 to 3 hours
- Yield: 6 servings
- Per serving: 339 g water; 330 calories (46% from fat, 44% from protein, 10% from carb)
