Ingredients
- 1 pound (900 g) meatballs, basic or turkey
- 1 cup (165 g) pineapple chunks, juice reserved
- 2 tbsps (24 g) cornstarch
- ¼ cup (60 ml) cold water
- 1 cup (240 g) low-salt ketchup
- ¼ cup (60 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ cup (75 g) chopped green bell pepper
Method
- Brown meatballs in a skillet over medium-high heat, rolling so all sides are browned
- Place meatballs in slow cooker
- Pour juice from pineapple chunks into skillet
- Stir into drippings
- Combine cornstarch and cold water
- Add to skillet and stir until thickened
- Stir in ketchup and Worcestershire sauce and then add pepper and garlic powder
- Add green pepper and pineapple chunks
- Pour pineapple mixture over meatballs
- Cover and cook on low 6 hours
- Yield: 6 servings
- Per serving: 180 g water; 403 calories (45% from fat, 26% from protein, 28% from carb)
