Easy Sweet And Sour Meatballs Slow Cooker Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pound (900 g) meatballs, basic or turkey
  • 1 cup (165 g) pineapple chunks, juice reserved
  • 2 tbsps (24 g) cornstarch
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) cold water
  • 1 cup (240 g) low-salt ketchup
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ cup (75 g) chopped green bell pepper

Method

  1. Brown meatballs in a skillet over medium-high heat, rolling so all sides are browned
  2. Place meatballs in slow cooker
  3. Pour juice from pineapple chunks into skillet
  4. Stir into drippings
  5. Combine cornstarch and cold water
  6. Add to skillet and stir until thickened
  7. Stir in ketchup and Worcestershire sauce and then add pepper and garlic powder
  8. Add green pepper and pineapple chunks
  9. Pour pineapple mixture over meatballs
  10. Cover and cook on low 6 hours
  11. Yield: 6 servings
  12. Per serving: 180 g water; 403 calories (45% from fat, 26% from protein, 28% from carb)
