Ingredients
- 6 qt. pot
- 10 c. water
- 1 can tomato soup
- 2 lb. pkg. dry kidney beans
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 lb. Portuguese sausage
Method
- Rinse beans and cook in 10 cups of water until you can mash them
- (Electric mixer is faster!) about 1 hour
- The more you mash the thicker the soup
- Add rest of ingredients (add sausage whole, slice before serving) and add more water to baring to about 3 inches from top of pot
- Bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours
