Simple Bean Soup Portuguese Recipe

Ingredients

• 6 qt. pot
• 10 c. water
• 1 can tomato soup
• 2 lb. pkg. dry kidney beans
• 1 onion, sliced
• 2 lb. Portuguese sausage

Method

1. Rinse beans and cook in 10 cups of water until you can mash them
2. (Electric mixer is faster!) about 1 hour
3. The more you mash the thicker the soup
4. Add rest of ingredients (add sausage whole, slice before serving) and add more water to baring to about 3 inches from top of pot
5. Bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours
