Dried Apple Pie Recipe

Ingredients

  • Serving Size : 6
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water
  • 1 1/2 cups dried apple slices
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon – ground
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg – ground
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 unbaked two-crust pastry

Method

  1. Pour boiling water over dried apples and let soak for 3 to 4 hours.
  2. Add sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Stir well.
  4. Fit half of pastry into a 9-inch pie pan and pour apple mixture into this.
  5. Dot with butter or margarine cut into bits.
  6. Cover with remaining rolled-out pastry and bake 45 minutes in a 350 F oven
  7. Makes one 9-inch pie.
