Ingredients

- 2 Cakes yeast
- 1 cup milk – scalded and cooled
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 7 cups sifted flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 6 tablespoons melted butter
- 3 Eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Method
- Dissolve yeast and the 1 tbsp sugar in lukewarm liquid.
- Add 3 Cups flour and beat until smooth.
- Add butter, sugar and eggs beaten till light.
- Add remainder of flour and salt.
- Turn on board, knead lightly.
- Place in greased bowl, cover and let rise about 2 hours.
- Doll out as for cinnamon rolls.
- Brush with melted butter.
- Sprinkle brown sugar, currants and cinnamon.
- Roll up and place in circle on greased baking sheets.
- With scissors cut 3/4 inch dices, almost through and turn each slice on its side.
- Cover and let rise 1 hour.
- Glaze with egg diluted with milk.
- Bake 25 minutes.
- Frost while hot with plain frosting.
