Never Fail Yeast Rolls Recipe

Ingredients

Serving Size : 1

  • 1 Pt. milk
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 package yeast
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda

Method

  1. Scald milk then add shortening and sugar.
  2. Let cool.
  3. Dissolve yeast in water and add to shortening mixture.
  4. Add enough flour to make a thick batter.
  5. Let rise.
  6. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and soda.
  7. Add this to batter along with enough flour to make a soft dough.
  8. Place in greased bowl in refrigerator and cover.
  9. Make into rolls 1 1/2 hours before serving.
  10. Let rise and brush with melted butter.
  11. Bake at 375 degrees until lightly brown.
